No tour of Virginia would be complete without a visit to Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello. Jefferson served America for over fifty years as a public official, historian, philosopher, and plantation owner. So we are very excited that our students will have an opportunity to learn more about the author of the Declaration of Independence and the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom who served as the third president of the United States.
In addition to founding the University of Virginia, Jefferson voiced the aspirations of a new America as no other individual of his era. Monticello will give our students a chance to take in the measure of the man.
